Why coaching works for Weight Loss

Coaching is a method to meet you where you are at.
It is a place of non-judgment.
It is not bossy
It is friendly and warm.

Its like having a person in your corner

All the time

Think of the times you have experienced judgment while working with your health care provider. Your complaints were not believed. You were not listened to and waited for a long time to sometimes find yourself very annoyed.

I use a coaching approach in medicine as it is similar to the nursing model: Caring for others and listening. But also with a goal-directed approach.

It makes such a difference when YOU believe in YOUR idea for change. When it is my idea, then eventually it will be a chore. If it is YOUR idea, then you have buy-in and I am here to support you towards YOUR goals.

With weight loss, having a coach is really the key towards success. If you slip someone is there, if you are hungry and craving, someone is there.

If you need help with meal planning, someone is there.

What is beautiful about coaching?

  • I will help you create a vision of where you want to be.
  • What are your strengths, what tools are needed?
  • Make sure your actions align with the vision you have of your future self
  • Allowing you to move from a caterpillar to a butterfly

I have had a coach for years and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel that coaching has allowed me the space to move forward and work toward my goals.

There is a ton of data on the effectiveness of coaching with weight loss. I am fond of this little write-up in Harvard.

I hope you are able to choose coaching and move towards the future you most desire.
